John Eales Biography:
John Eales AM, author, columnist, and former Wallabies captain, was inducted into the Sports Australia Hall of Fame, the International Rugby Board Hall of Fame, the Australia Institute of Sport’s Best of the Best, awarded the Australian Sports Medal in 2000 and made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1999 for services to the community and rugby.
Topping that illustrious sports career, Eales was also the founder of the Mettle Group—a consultancy acquired by Chandler Macleod in 2007, and sits on the boards of Flight Centre Travel Group, Magellan Financial Group, the Australian Rugby Union, FXDMS and The Palladium Group. Eales lectures occasionally at the University of Notre Dame in Sydney and has authored the Learning from Legends series of books that uncover the driving factors that have enabled sports legends to learn their lessons and reach their goals, translating that essence of leadership into the business world.
